Sensibility Gap

The Sensibility Gap refers to differences in the depth and expression of embodied humanistic cultivation. Even when individuals encounter the same knowledge and generative AI, they may differ in their capacity to transform AI-generated language into their own, independently evaluate its outputs, and translate their judgments into responsible action.

Definition of Sensibility

Sensibility is an embodied humanistic capacity cultivated through lived experience and reflection. It manifests in the ability to interpret the world, discern meaning and value, and act through one's own language, judgment, and responsible practice.

In the age of technological generation, this sensibility takes concrete form through dialogue with generative AI: translating AI-generated language into one's own, evaluating and deciding whether to endorse its outputs, and taking responsibility for their use and consequences.

Definition of the Sensibility Gap

The Sensibility Gap refers to differences in the depth and expression of embodied humanistic cultivation. Even when individuals encounter the same knowledge and generative AI, they may differ in their capacity to transform AI-generated language into their own, independently evaluate its outputs, and translate their judgments into responsible action.

Distinction

This gap cannot be reduced to differences in material capital, access to information, or technical proficiency. It raises a distinct humanistic question: how knowledge becomes embodied cultivation, and how that cultivation is realized through judgment and practice.

Relationship with artura

Sensibility and artura exist in a mutually generative relationship.

Within processes of technological generation, an experience of artura may sharpen and deepen embodied sensibility by reconfiguring memory, perception, and judgment.

Conversely, sensibility refined through lived experience and reflection may prepare an individual to recognize and respond to the emergence of artura in relational processes of generation.

This relationship is not one of necessary causation. Cultivated sensibility does not guarantee the emergence of artura, nor does experiencing artura automatically deepen sensibility.

Core Proposition

Sensibility is formed not through the accumulation of knowledge alone, but through the depth of humanistic cultivation embodied in language, judgment, and responsible practice. artura may sharpen this sensibility, while refined sensibility opens the possibility of encountering artura anew.

Author-approved explanatory context

The mutually generative relationship between sensibility and artura does not imply necessary causation. Experiencing artura does not necessarily deepen sensibility, and embodied sensibility does not guarantee the emergence of artura. Momentary events and continuing embodiment stand in a processual relationship in which each can expand the possibilities of the other.

SG01 relationship; non-necessary causation, existing proposition retained

Approval scope

Approval of a canonical record is limited to the stated concept definition, edition, and language. Historical formulations in published articles, manuscripts still under review, translations with verified author approval, and unreviewed introductory texts must be distinguished. Publication or public availability alone does not extend the same approval status to other editions or languages.
