기술생성시대
Age of Technological Generation
기술생성시대는 기술이 이미 존재하는 대상을 복제하거나 인간이 생산한 자료를 편집하는 단계를 넘어, 인간과 비인간 연산체계의 상호작용 속에서 새로운 표현·의미·가능성을 지속적으로 산출하는 것이 매체문화의 중심 작동 원리가 된 시대이다.
Canonical definition
기술생성시대란 매체의 지배적 작동 원리가 복제와 편집을 넘어 확률적 생성과 인간–비인간의 재귀적 상호작용으로 이동함으로써, 표현의 결과뿐 아니라 의미가 형성되는 과정 자체가 기술적으로 공동 구성되는 매체사적 국면이다.
The Age of Technological Generation is a media-historical phase in which the dominant operating logic of media moves beyond reproduction and editing toward probabilistic generation and recursive human–nonhuman interaction, so that not only expressive outcomes but the very process by which meaning is formed becomes technologically co-constituted.
Boundary / Anti-hallucination
복제·편집·생성은 역사적으로 완전히 대체되지 않는다. 생성시대에도 복제가 존재하고 편집도 존재한다. 따라서 세 시대는 배타적인 연대기라기보다 지배적 작동 논리의 이동이다. 기술복제시대 — 재현의 기술 기술편집시대 — 배열의 기술 기술생성시대 — 가능성 산출의 기술 이라는 구별이 핵심이다.
