작동적 자율성은 기술체계가 인간이 설정한 목적과 제도적 조건에 의존하면서도 자동화·축적·반복·피드백을 통해 개별 인간의 현재 의지나 직접 명령으로 완전히 환원되지 않는 방식으로 작동하는 상대적 자율성이다.

Operational autonomy is the relative autonomy through which a technological system, while dependent upon human purposes and institutional conditions, operates by automation, accumulation, repetition, and feedback in ways that cannot be fully reduced to an individual human being’s present will or direct command.

작동적 자율성이란 인간의 설계와 자원에 의존하는 기술체계가 자동화·축적·반복·환류를 통해 개별 인간의 현재 의도에 환원되지 않는 인과적 효과를 지속적으로 발생시키는 상대적 작동 능력이다.

Operational autonomy is the relative operational capacity through which a technological system dependent on human design and resources continually produces causal effects irreducible to an individual human being’s present intention by means of automation, accumulation, repetition, and feedback.
